Longer Journeys

As well as local journeys including supermarkets, doctors, dentists, cafes, restaurants, churches, libraries etc, you can also use Dial a Ride to go further afield.

We use our fleet of comfortable MPVs and electric cars for these longer journeys and once we have dropped you off at your destination, we wait close by until you are ready to return.

We regularly take passengers to appointments in Bridlington, Malton, York and Hull, as well as other locations.

Who is this service for?

This service is available to all our eligible users, including those over 60 or with mobility challenges, who require transport for longer distances. Whether it’s a hospital appointment in a neighbouring town or a special event, we’re here to assist.

How to book

Just give us a call on 354434 between 8.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays).  Please give us as much advance notice as possible of your journey, as our schedules get booked-up quickly.

 

FAQs

Generally speaking, we will go anywhere within two hours’ driving time. If you need to go further afield, give us a call and we’ll see if we can help.

Although the majority of our longer journeys are to get passengers to medical appointments at the region’s hospitals, you can use us for almost any purpose.

Costs are calculated on distance and time, but here are a few examples (we include up to two hours’ waiting in the quoted cost):

From 1/4/2026:
Scarborough to Bridlington (return) = £38.00
Scarborough to Malton (return) = £51.30
Scarborough to York (return) = £85.50

Unfortunately not. We accept cash or cheque, or can arrange for advance payment by BACS.

We have a limited number of vehicles and drivers and we get booked-up quickly, so we need as much notice as you are able to give us please.

If we have two or more customers wishing to go to the same place at a similar time, we will normally try to complete these journeys in one vehicle. Often though, you may be the only passenger for longer journeys.

No problem – just let us know at the time of booking. There is no extra charge for an additional passenger on our longer journeys.
